||
|
We are appealing for information and witnesses following a report of an assault in St Albans. It was reported that a woman was assaulted by man known to her in the city centre on Saturday (31 January). It is alleged that he also stole from her. The incident happened in The Maltings and onto St Peter’s Street by Ladbrokes and Greggs between around 5.30pm and 6.30pm. A 49 year old man from St Albans has since been arrested on suspicion of assault and robbery. He has been bailed while enquiries continue. Detective Constable Tom Eldred said: “We know some members of the public intervened to help the victim so I am asking anybody who’s not yet spoken to us to get in touch. “If you were in the area and saw what happened, please get in contact. You can email me at Thomas.Eldred@herts.police.uk quoting crime reference 41/9853/26.” You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org. In an emergency, always call 999. | ||
